My kids are certain that I'm going to take them to the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest finals. They're also certain that Tel Aviv will host the event.
Of course, as of today, a final decision on the host city and venue has yet to be decided.
In fact, European broadcasters are in Israel today, scoping out Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Eilat as possible host cities. Eurovision has always been a bit of an enigma for me... growing up in Canada, it wasn't a big deal at all. But over the years, the over-the-top international pop song contest has gained fans worldwide.
And this year's winner -- Netta -- even managed to score a Billboard No.1 hit with her song, Toy.
I never thought I'd wait for a decision on anything Eurovision, but it is hard not to get caught up with the kids on this decision. If the Eurovision officials need a deciding vote, my kids say: Tel Aviv!
