10 amazing iPhone apps made in Israel
Updated: Jan 5, 2020
Summer 2018: Apple announced its $1 trillion valuation. Shortly before that, Apple celebrated its 10th anniversary of the iOS App Store.
A lightbulb went off in my head: this was the perfect opportunity to write about 10 amazing iPhone apps made in Israel.
Fortunately, the editor at NoCamels agreed.
And so, I set out to scan the internet. I checked in with AppAnnie to read their lists and app analytics. App analytics firm Sensor Tower also had good information.
I dug back into my archives – seeing where companies I had written about before were today.
I read a lot of articles, market research reports, and charts to find the 10 apps I would write about.
I expected to find Waze, Moovit, Playtika and TabTale on the tops of Best Apps lists. After all, these companies are big players in the mobile market and continue to score big headlines about their work.
I was happy to see that Fitness22 and Lightricks, as well as 24me, were continuing to cull awards and gathering further acclaim.
Israeli companies are not the biggest app makers. Topping the charts are much bigger corporations like Epic Games, Warner Bros., Facebook, Google, Netflix, etc.
But considering Israel is a tiny country, with a population smaller than many world cities, the scope of the country’s output in tech – and, in this case, in app development, is worthy indeed.
The App Store began with 500 apps. Today it has over two million apps from which to choose. Check out these 10 amazing iPhone apps made in Israel.
